The shuttle driver to pick us up from the airport didn't have our name on his list. After a lot of huffing and puffing, we got on the shuttle and came to the rental company. This could have been avoided.

I had a charge 24 hours after dropping the car back for ‘TOL’ $168.87. This is apparently a fixed charge toll product which was completely mis represented to me. The car was not ready when I arrived at the desk. I made it clear to the clerk that I would not be using the car in an area of Florida with toll roads except for leaving and returning to the airport. When I queried the toll arrangements she told me it was simply a device in the car which would pay the tolls automatically and would recharge my credit card later with the amounts of the tolls.
I rent cars all the time and I stay away from cheaper less reputable operators to avoid the type of practices I encountered on this occasion with Avis/Budget. I did not expect this type of deception and mis-selling from Avis/Budget.
My point is when the product was sold to me it was sold under false pretences. Nobody would purchase a product for $168 when they know they will use $8 in tolls. That is not right, and is not what should be happening with a reputable rental company.
I visit Florida several times every year for the last 15 years always rent a car and this is the first time it has happened. Normally I get recharged for the tolls I use only.
Secondly, the car should be ready at the time it is booked, and thirdly a reputable company should not tell you the car is full at the desk and in the paperwork when it was in actual fact half full when I picked the car up, requiring me to go back to the desk and waste more time during the pick up process.
It is the worst rental experience I have ever had in Florida.

Innovative booking platform, and I like the price reduction protector
We reached the car rental office much earlier than expected as the custom clearance was much smooth than expected and our flight reached the airport earlier than expected. When we requested if we can collect the car earlier (it was only 1 hr earlier ) with the offer and promise to return an hour earlier than expected time , we were told that we had to pay 15 Euros more which I declined. When I returned to the counter at the agreed pick up time later ; to my surprise the car was not ready as it had to be sent from another terminal . The waiting time was more than an hour and they did not offer any sincere apologies nor express sense of urgency . This resulted me in spending more than 2 hours in total waiting for the car ! :( .

Booking via QeeQ was quite smooth ; though I bought comprehensive insurance too via QEEQ I was told by recordgo that it does not cover full insurance if I had cross border journey ; which was what I needed . At the end , to be on the safe side I bought insurance from RecordGo as I wanted piece of mid when I crossed the border into France . Perhaps I need to be more careful with insurance coverage on cross border journey and full support
Car advertised was toyota corolla or similar.
The car I was given was a Opel Crossland.
Fuel was not filled to the max.
Windscreen wipers needed replacing.
Tyre Pressure warning light came on after 1 day driving.
No reverse camera.
Unable to use a debit card to to secure insurance excess, had to pay for full insurance for complete duration.
Only 1 staff member at desk on arrival, took a very long time to process pick-up.

Booking was smooth however car advertised is not what is given
Advice on pick up was in correct. App and comms said to meet in the car park. The service provider was a different company name (Scandia rent) vs the one listed on the booking. So it took a number of phone calls and going to the information point at the airport to collect the car.
On the return journey we paid 175 euro to have an alternate drop off location to the pick up, but again multiple phone calls were required to coordinate.
The car was overall ok, had some external body defects and some tape pasted on bumpers.
The child seat was not provided at the pick up by Snap even though it was booked initially in the booking. Snap then gave a child seat which was very dirty and in very bad condition.

The car I had reserved was not available and they charged me several hundred dollars in extra "taxes and fees" that had not been quoted. This is unacceptable and should not happen.
We had to call and walk to a car pick up location, but we were treated very well and the van we rented was a great price and amount of space for an adult family to travel together.
