The process for getting the car was good. I had trouble finding the drop off and the staff did not help much even after repeated calls. Almost missed my flight from DUS.
When we collected the car at Bangkok Airport it was tightly parked between 2 other cars and the light was very poor...as a result a few of the existing little dings and scratches were not noticed and so not noted on the hire inspection report. I was relieved that none of these missed points became an issue at the offhire...although I did have my own hire pics which would have helped incase of a dispute.so all in all very fair and most importantly not opportunistic.
Hidden costs on the hire of booster seats, and it couldn't be explained why there was additional costs and how it come to the total that was being requested.
Handover was easy and good.
My credit card was charged twice and before i even noticed that Azid contacted me, informed me about the issue and transferred the money back immidiately! Nice service.
The car hire company refused to charge the quoted amount but instead charged me 20% more. Firefly helpline was not useful. After 60 minutes they eventually told me to pay the higher amount and said they would refund me later after launching a complaint. Complaint launched and still waiting for the refund.

AVIS cheated on me at my arrival as well as at my departure. I booked SUV and was going to be given small hatchback. I had to pay a lot more extra money at counter for SUV. After I returned the car, AVIS surprised me with heavy penalties for extra days, late return and unspecified fees. I found that out only from my bank account weeks later. AVIS didn't respond to my queries until I contacted police and consumer protection. They apologized and returned money.
They gave me a new Fabia. It was very clean and nice from every angle. Staff was kind. My deposit didn't refund yet and i'm still waiting but generally i pleased.

Customer desk is very helpful in directing us where to wait as w were not familiar with the pick up system in Melbourne. Waiting period is also good - not too long of a wait.
Car is in clean and good conditions.
Returning outside business hour is also smooth- we did not want long for the shuttle to take us back to the airport.
the car I booked was a bait and switch. Basically I paid extra to book a Jeep and when i showed up the rental company said that even though the rental said it was for a Jeep Grand Cherokee, the classification was for a lower vehicle. I ended up with a crap vehicle.
