Long wait at Verona airport on arrival, as 4 people in queue, and only 1 person working. We had prebooked, but had to wait behind people who had not. Appreciate it was Sunday evening, but Hertz had 2 people serving and no queue. Air con in pick up queue was not on or not working.
Vehicle selected was a Peugeot 308 estate which has a 660L boot, but I was provided with a Fiat 500L which has a 455L boot - 205 litres less ? Appreciate vehicle make cannot be guaranteed, but how are these vehicles in the same class ? Offered a Volvo estate for another 140 EUR, but an equivalent size car or bigger should be offered at no extra cost.
Return of vehicle much better. 2 people serving, and no queue. Process took less than 10 mins.

Easyrent was very good, easy to use, and cancel and re-book for a lower cost with vouchers and price variations. Got around £50 off the initial price booked many months ago.
There is a big line for the shuttle service, and even longer line for Europecar counter. It’s not the amount of people, it’s the fact that they try to sell you extra insurance and work very very slow. They gave us a fiat500, except from the nice exterior, the car is very uncomfortable, and can’t withhold the mountain roads
If you're for the first time in MXP airport is a little tricky to find where are the rental cars parked. Not enough signs to guide you there.
The car return process was really very fast.

Everything about the car and counter staff in Florence was excellent. The europcar app was terrible , and the customer service over the phone was terrible - staff members didn’t listen, did wrong updates, didn’t send confirmation of changes, and didn’t listen.

Over 3 hours to pick up the car. Vehicle was not available gave us a luxury saloon car instead, but in Catania was useless and dangerous to drive. Another half an hour to switch to another car
The car was of good quality, however a warning light continuously sounded as an oil change/top up was due. The car was not clean upon pick up.
Europcar pick up service was a disaster. We had to queue for over two hours just to pick up the car, with no explanation or offer of compensation. There was not an unsurprisingly large amount of people in the queue - rather there were only two members of staff (there were 8 desk areas) who were very slow. This was completely unacceptable and I will not book with Europcar in the future.
Europecar offered me Fiat 500L instead of Renault Megane or any other with similar size of trunk. Fiat has 450 liters trunk, but every other car on list of similar cars has more than 500 (520-550) liters trunk.
So I was forced to pay over 150 euro extra for a Seat Leon with automatic transmission (they had only Fiats in this class of cars), because I was not able to pack my luggage to Fiat 500L.
There were some other issues like for example no spare wheel in the car, or any tyre repair kit, what I found after couple of days. Luckily I didn't need it.
You have to carefully inspect the car, because half of scratches are not on the list of damages in the document you get.
Europecar has now totally different way of doing business, comparing with my previous experience with this company.

Ils te proposent bien sûr un meilleur véhicule pour quelques euros de plus par jour...
A la restitution, une rayure a été constatée: aucun conseil pour minimiser la facture, aucune information sur les suites et la facturation, aucune empathie.
Mauvaise expérience malgré de très nombreuses locations sans problème chez d'autres compagnies moins connues.
Au final, ils sont très procédurier et ne laissent rien passé...pour maximiser le coût final...
Je ne renouvellerais pas chez Europcar c'est certain...

Accueil minable sur l'agence de sassari (viale porto torres). Aucune indication et d'aide sur le véhicule, notamment le carburant c'était une essence et non diesel comme l'agent de comptoir nous l'avait mentionné. Voiture donnée sale. L'agent est venu ouvrir l'agence à 9h20 au lieu de 9h comme prévu et sans s'excuser du retard!

We had to wait two hours for our car at Naples Airport: the ticket system is inefficient, the rental desk too small and understaffed. After the theft of our rental car (1 week into our stay in Italy), we were unable to contact Europcar by phone. They put you on hold for hours, then put the phone down on you or tell you to ring a different number. And they won’t call you back! Absolutely shocking!! We eventually got a new car but it took three days and two long journeys by public transport to get it sorted. Don’t use Europcar!
