Here's a comment you can use for Budget Car Rental: --- I’m extremely disappointed with my recent experience with Budget Car Rental at JFK Airport. Despite booking a car through QEEQ and paying in advance, I encountered several issues. The staff were unhelpful and rude, and I was informed that no cars were available upon arrival. After finally getting a vehicle, I was later hit with an unauthorized charge of USD 1202.39 on my credit card, despite being assured by customer service that there would be no extra fees for dropping off the car at a different location. I’ve tried to resolve this directly with your customer support, but I have yet to receive the refund that was promised. As a visitor from London, this entire experience has been incredibly stressful, and I’m now worried about additional charges on my credit card due to this error. This kind of service is unacceptable, and I would not recommend Budget to anyone based on my experience.

As I said before I ran into a lot of problems with my cars: - first car looked reasonable but discovered later that rubber of windshield whiper was loose (not practical since it rained a lot). Furthermore car notification that car needed a engine oil now. Had to swap car - second car less comfortable and after one day received a notification of engine malfunction. Had to swap cars again. However, closest Budget location was >60 miles away. Very inconvenient and time consuming - third car was fairly new and quite good. Budget representative tried to give me a Dodge Charger first which is not a SUV at all. Eventually after waiting I was offered a good car. At the end of my trip this car also gave a notification that engine oil change was due.

The wait was too long. It was the first time I encountered a situation where the computer could find the order but the car couldn't be collected. It took several calls with customer service in the middle of the night from my home country, and the entire process took 3 hours. The use of the e-toll was not explained, and it was not mentioned in the contract.

Very deceptive, didn't explain key payment terms. They talk about all the no-cost items, and when you sign, the printout is very faint. It looks like you're just signing for the car, but it hides $845 insurance fees. Lesson learned!

Hertz's service was excellent, and the car was very new, with only 6000 miles on it. The staff explained the terms in detail, were humorous, and even helped us bundle the most cost-effective 2-day unlimited Toll Road package based on our travel plans. Returning the car was quick, and the $200 deposit was refunded instantly.

The store is easy to find, and the service is okay. On Saturday, I had to wait in line for 2 hours. Make sure to bring a physical card; Apple Pay doesn't work, and neither does a US credit card linked to Apple Pay. Otherwise, you won't be able to rent a car. The name on the credit card must match the name on your driver's license. I rented a gas car, but was given an electric car with only half a charge. Charging took 40 minutes to add 30 kilometers. If you return the car after 8 PM, there's a $20 fee. Otherwise, you need to park it yourself and return it the next day.

TWO significant issues: 1) the NY license plate didn't match the one on the receipt! I had to go back in and get that fixed, because I'd brought my own EZ Pass, and didn't know if it would go through with a different plate. 2) the car smelled of SMOKE! I've never smoked myself, so the culprit was not me...and I'd didn't address this issue at pickup because getting 1) fixed took so much time....

I doubt I can call ACE a business because it feels more like a racket. I was forced or deceived to purchase additional insurance coverage, despite the fact that I had already purchased liability insurance from Qeeq. Furthermore, I dropped the vehicle 1 hour after the requested time. I was told that there is 30min I tried to gain sympathy of the staff. They were very adamant and say they have nothing to do against the system and they even add 30 min more to my arrival time because I had to use their toilet before I sign the drop off (the vehicle was already in their possession). They charged me a whole additional day, even with full insurance. I only realized this once I have received the invoice at the airport. I think they waited for me to leave the premises so I would not have the opportunity to complain. Really a bad experience and I felt I was scammed.

I ordered a car from JFK and I had no idea that it's not located at the rental area, instead I had to take a shuttle. Unfortunatily I had no idea that the office is closed at night, it opens only at 8:00 AM, and I arrived there at 7:00 AM, and I needed to wait for an hour, there was also no telephone to talk before the opening hours.

The vehicle exterior was extremely dirty. This made visibility from both the front and rear windscreen more challenging that it should have done. I am 51-years old and have rented vehicles many times in my life but this is the dirtiest car I have ever had (I did not see this when collecting the vehicle as it was dark). The inside was acceptable although the back seat had a few minor stains. The collection process was acceptable but took a little longer than I would have liked. Also, I was not happy that I was not allowed to use a US credit card for guarantee purposes on the basis that we had CDW included in the booking. This meant my UK current account had to receive an actual debit and subsequent recredit at the conclusion of the rental. Lastly, I would have preferred the collection and dropoff point to be in a covered facility than on the roof of the Hertz operation. It was raining hard when we returned the vehicle.

Like: All staff I interacted with were affable and generous. I felt well informed and well taken care of. What I appreciated was understanding why things were taking so long: the staff focussed on the customer care and went into detail when answering questions and helping customers make the right choices. I was happy with the way that Geneva handled my query; I felt like I was the only customer in the room -- unrushed and highly valued.
Dislike: I had not anticipated close to 1.5 hours from queue to driving off with the car. If I had known this, I would have built this into my schedule and my 7 year old daughter was tired from flying and very fed up. Moreover it had a knock on-effect on my next appointment to collect a key from the air bnb accommodation contact, so I had a lot of apologising to do.

The car was in excellent condition and very new, with less than 500 kilometers on it, so there was a noticeable leather smell. The pickup location was hard to find, with no clear signs or directions. I had to search and ask around in pouring rain and eventually found it above the HERZE building.
