I have mixed feelings about my experience renting a car through the website and location. Online it was not clear that the pick up location is offsite away from the airport. We took a shuttle to the pick up spot and there we experienced the worst pick up process ever. Even though the staff were courteous it was clear they were really understaffed and the process was very inefficient. We spent over two hours waiting to receive our car. However once we did receive our car we were very happy with the vehicle we received and we did not have any problems with it during our trip. Because of our long wait during the pick up, when we dropped the car off we didn’t even wait for the shuttle but chose to take an Uber back to the airport.
No one answered the phone when we called to be picked up from the airport and had to wait an hour, while everyone else got picked up from their shuttle right away. However, the car was better than expected. New 2019 Kia Forte, very nice car. The lady that helped us check in seemed a bit disengaged and uninterested in helping us, but the guy that helped us check out was awesome and fast. Overall, the whole process went fine and price was great, so I would probably rent from here again.
Routes staff lied about pickup time and why it took so long, 1hr after flight arrived in 90 dry heat. Car was on E and was supposed to be full. Under staffed and most didn’t know what to do. Drop off was not available at flight time so had to drop off night b4 and Uber back to hotel and then to airport next day. Extra $90
Customer service is not their focus. I waited for 15-20 mins prior to being helped. During that time the phone rang constantly - not one time was it picked up.
Time to pick up car was almost 1.5 hrs worst than I've ever experienced. The lady who assisted was very helpful and courteous. The cars were great condition and priced reasonable. The drop off service was great no wait time.
Good company, a little stingy on the upgrades normally, but you get lucky when they are low on smaller cars and will automatically upgrade you at no charge.

I won't mention how long it will take to get your car. However, it took me over AN HOUR to get back to the airport on my return!!! even when I begged them multiple times that we would be late for our flight! The staff there were so rude and didn't care about the customers at all. When we arrived to Routes to return the car, the shuttle was just about to leave. My daughter rushed to the driver and asked him to give us two minutes to load the stuff so we could catch the shuttle. The shuttle driver was rude and didn't want to wait for two minutes - he said there would be another shuttle in 10 minutes. We waited and waited, no shuttle showed up. I talked to the front desk staff, the guy I talked to just smiled and said, "Well, I'm not gonna get into this...I'm not the shuttle driver, If you don't want to be late, you should have left enough time. I cannot get a shuttle just for you! " After 40 minutes, the shuttle was back, same
driver, so there was not another shuttle at all. We rushed to put our luggage into the shuttle. But the shuttle driver said:"No I'm not going back to the airport! I'm off work, I'm going home!! There should be another shuttle in 10 minutes" We were shocked and had to return to the front desk staff. He said:"There is nothing I can do for you, just wait for 10 minutes for the other shuttle." I almost cried and said, there is no another shuttle:"We have waited for 45 minutes!" By the time there was less than an hour from our flight departure, there was still no shuttle. I was trying to get an Uber but that would be time for the Uber driver to locate us. Both of my girls cried and we were so desperate. The staff there looked at us like this was a joke. Finally shuttle came, when I got back to the airport, there was less than 45 minutes left from the departure! I just couldn't believe this happened at a car rental company. They have no professional ethics! It was both humiliating and outrageous!!
These people care care less and very rood and they game different car and also accident car. It’s very awkward.
Also he charged the toll charge per day 12$ even though use or not and he asked me admin fee 50 if till charges get failed. Also took a sign for ticket admin fee 100$
I felt very awkward situation.

The Car ordered was not available but an upgrade was offered at no fee.
Cars were clean and new. Did not like that contract had miles per day usage but routes charges .50 per mile over 200 not the contracted amount.
Service at routes was less than ideal.
Once I arrived at Routes, it took over an hour of waiting to get my car and get serviced at the counter. They are so understaffed. Once I got called up, it was pretty fast, but the long wait to actually talk to a staff member was ridiculous. This was Sunday morning at 11am. It was also somewhat slow to return the car, waited about 30 min in total, but far better than the pick up.
Car was great! Excellent condition. The only problem is I had a flight to catch at 6:45 and Routes did not open until 6am which I was not aware of. I assumed there would be a drop box and or instructions on what to do if you have an early flight. There was no drop box to leave the key and car. If this were available I would strongly recommend routes, otherwise if you have an early flight to catch you might want to look elsewhere. It was a great experience minus the drop off mishap.
REAL EXPERIENCE!!
AIRPORT AND SHUTTLE:
I arrived at Orlando Airport and walked about 10 minutes to the shuttle stop. I waited at the shuttle stop for around 15 minutes, the shuttle arrived. The ride was around 20-25 minutes as the shuttle visited both terminals on the way to the place.
ROUTES OFFICE:
When arrived at Routes, there were around 15 people in the room. I signed a waiting list so I was now in queue to collect my pre-booked car. They had Netflix on a TV (but the screen was frozen) and a few chairs, but they were all occupied. They had a water cooler but it was empty, so I stood by the door. After around 30 minutes, somebody called my name and I went to the counter.
CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE:
Nobody was wearing name tags, but a lady helped me and the first thing she said was: "Which insurance would you like to buy?"... Option 1. 21.95 per day or Option 2: 24.95 a day. The difference was the deductible. I told them I don't want to purchase insurance, I had my own. So they asked me for insurance proof, however, my insurance ID card was not enough. They wanted the full form which listed all the figures and totals lol. After calling my company 3 times and spending around 40 mintues on the phone, I finally got the paperwork emailed over. I saw many people giving up and paying them $21.95 per day, I suppose this is how they get their money!
CHARGES:
Deposit they charged to my card was $350 based on a $50 rental.
They charge 11.95 per day for SunPass. If you run a cashless toll without it, their admin fee is $100 per toll.
They do not rent to young drivers under any circumstances.
Insurance Option 1. 21.95 per day or Option 2: 24.95 a day
