The car was in a very poor state, despite being told I was being switched to a 'newer car' there was a list of 7 elements of damage to the car on the original rental agreement.
On inspection once I went to pick up the car, I found 3 other serious bits of damage to the car, 1 involving the lights that had not been noted. I have attached photos of these.
On returning to the car rental desk (as there were no staff in the parking area), I had to wait for previous customers to finish their agreement before flagging up this damage and having my rental agreement amended by hand and signed. I have attached a photo of these amendments.
I don't believe this car should have been rented and it had not been well cleaned in advance.
Budget staff were brilliant and made the whole process so simple an efficient. No problems on the return, the operative asked if there were any problems checked over the car and ensured the tank was full and I was on my way, as quick as that. I shall choose Budget again.

Free upgrade on collection to a brand new car was a bonus. Customer service on collection could have been a little more professional, but overall they were friendly and I didn't have any issues.

Managed to find a great price and I like being able to view the prices on a map, which other comparison sites don't allow. The only issue is not being able to filter by hires that have unlimited mileage, as that would make my life much easier!
The staff at Heathrow failed to explain the cost breakdown leaving us to figure it out ourselves. We still don’t understand why the surcharge was higher when we opted for the full insurance coverage. The staff also failed to realise the car chosen has GPS installed and still advised us to pay for the external GPS device. Also the staff didn’t explain clearly the procedures of dropping off the car and the Postcode provided failed to lead us to the correct drop off point forcing us to ask people around us and hotel representatives to resolve the issue. Also when we had an issue with the car and called the hotline, it took a long time for a representative to pick up the call and the responsiveness was slow and the service was appalling as no one called back after seemingly a phone connection breakdown.

I get the VW Polo instead of Ford Fiesta, which is totally fine with me, the car was in great condition.
The counter staff is friendly and work fast, However I have to spent more than 40 minutes waiting as there's a group of tourist picking up two cars before me and there's only one person in that group who can speak English and he has to translate every word the staff said to his friend (it's uncontrollable factor, nothing to complain on the staff.)
The counter operating hour is rather too short, only 8am - 3pm.
Car stated on rental agreement was different from the car presented to us. Presented car's boot space was smaller than the car in the rental agreement.

Counter staff was very helpful as at first the car was not on site but he arranged for the car to arrive but did not have my contact details to update me. Even with this he was very helpful with updates and did his best to get the car asap. Great staff member and also cleaned the car before i drove away. Car was a Citroen C4 which was fantastic and family now want me to buy one lol. Thank you Budget team.

someone needs to check cleanliness of the cars ours had a smell that I later found out was down to a mouldy pack of beefburgers in the boot that had been there for a long time..After saying that everything with the Budget is brilll, I would recommend them to anyone..

1)I buy a super insurance at easyrentcars.com apps,arrive and take the car at budget,the budget staff sell me to buy the super insurance ,I show my phone to him I buy from the apps ,he said I didn’t buy the insurance ,just buy the basic insurance and show me his computer didn’t have super insurance record and tell me if the car damage ,I want to pay 1000 pounds,so I pay 22 pounds per day for the insurance ,I return to hotel and look the easyrentcars apps ,the claim condition is same as I buy at budget,so I buy the double insurance ,email to budget ,the budget services department reply me a long writings about theirs services how good ,but didn’t see can help me。
2)Take the car at budget ,the staff just give me the key ,and tell me in the car park ,I go to car park found a lot of time ,have a look the cars pumper had a lot scratches around the car,and start the car,table board show yellow signal ,the car is not really,then change another one,waste my time。

The space of the car is as expected however the exterior of the car is not very clean. You can’t differentiate the dirts with the scratches. I hope they can clean the car in and outside of the car throughly. The front desk staff during the pickup at Gatwick Airport is nice, she tried to upgrade the car (with a price of course) and tried to sell their insurance but I rejected nicely and she didn’t push it further.
Everything was nice until Avis (Budget) charge me £30 for ADMINISTRATION FEE only for passing on my details to the police. At first it was tolerable because I might have speeding at the highway unknowingly. I still haven’t heard from the police until now. Avis send me a letter btw not email. All the way from the UK to Malaysia. BUT Avis charge me £30 again for whatever reason I don’t know. I guess I need to wait for their mail to know. I will never use Avis again. Ever.
