Wouldn't take my credit cards and asked for debit card deposit. Then was told that fees and conversation rates would almost equal upgraded insurance and that I might as well upgrade insurance. Seems dodgy...
Temps d attente beaucoup trop long a Nice. Seulement 2 personnes au comptoir pour au moins 40 personnes. J ai du payer 50€ de plus pour passer en express afin d éviter d’ attendre plus de 2.30h!
Goldcar nous a fait croire qu' on avait réservé un autre modèle de voiture puis ditvqu easyrentcars s est trompé et que leur assurance ne fonctionnera pas. Ils encaissent une caution de 1500 euros que nous n avosn toujours pas récupéré sinon obligent à payer en plus leur assurance de 135 euros !

The car had quite a bit of damage but the main problem was the staff at Goldcar - tried to force me to take crazy insurance which I told them I already had sorted. Then charged me 30EU so I don’t have to fill car up when return which I had already paid for on my booking. We’re a real nightmare to deal with.

Long queue for desk.No car available when we went to desk. Spent around 40 minutes with attendant( very nice but dealing with a car shortage she didn’t create)
New car finally arrived, total time probably 90 minutes.
Discovered after 3 days that spare tire had been removed, only a small compressor no emergency aerosol
Majority of our journeys were autoroute and we would have been stranded if we had a puncture.
Gold car staff did not tell us this at pick up and on return said we would have to drive on flat tyre until at a service station
Very dangerous advice not to mention destruction of tyre and wheel.

Très très insistants pour vous faire prendre leur assurance (très chère), jusqu'au point de vous faire peur. Mais à part ça, tout s'est passé normalement.

I think it’s a really vile practice of goldcar to force you to buy their insurance online (there’s no other way to secure the booking online) then brazenly declare when you go to collect the car that the insurance you HAVE to buy is useless and will not cover you. I picked their cheapest cover and just bought my own (for about £12) but you could see the disappointment on the lady’s face when she couldn’t extort an extra £100 from me. If they’re going to use such money grubbing tactics why not just charge more for the rental? They really should be taken to court. I’m also still waiting for my credit card refund.
J'ai fait la queue debout pendant deux heures avant d'atteindre le guichet, un des employés a été très désagréable avec les clients qui attendaient. C'est inadmissible.
Car was not really clean on the inside, seats had stains and the dashboard a bit greasy.
The staff were really nice. Car quality not so much though, but enough for the price! You get what you paid for.

La voiture n'est pas propre extérieur et intérieur à la réception,les marques du véhicules n'étaient pas toutes renseignées, le siège auto de mon enfant n'était pas en place, le GPS était en langue germanique
PS: le réceptionniste pour la récupération du vehicule a été formidablement
Personnel au comptoir désagréable. Forte incitation à prendre une assurance en plus qui ne sert à rien mais sans laquelle nous ne pouvons prendre le véhicule...

Car had quite a few damages, some of which weren’t listed but staff happy to review before we took the car.
Still waiting for deposit to be returned- staff advised it could take up to a week which is quite a long time to be out of pocket more than a thousand euros, especially when it was only a small car we hired for 4 days.

A bit strange that AXA insurance documents in Hong Kong dollars, given that we paid in GBP and euros.
Unable to give an accurate idea of deposit amount which left us unprepared at the desk.

Staff very polite and smiley but it was too much. I thought the lady was genuinely super nice and offered to upgrade the car as I was getting married this holiday but what she was offering actually had a price! I declined politely. I was also very surprised to see how expensive the full cover was. I thought I had a good deal when initially booking with goldcar but turns out it is as expensive as others suppliers.
