Absolute cowboys, out to rip you off for as much money as possible.
I frequently hire cars from different companies and have only ever had one issue in all that time, when a company tried to charge me for minor damage that I was able to prove had never occurred.
However, Green Motion refused to allow me to use my signature for my credit card. This is despite me walking for half an hour to the nearest cashpoint to try and re-set my PIN, which was locked. This is also despite me being a repeat customer who had hired a car from a sister office just three months ago and given them an excellent review.
Instead, they gave me a hard-sell and charged me just under £100 before I knew what was happening and well aware that I was stranded in the middle of nowhere on an industrial park. This was on top of charging me and extra £50 for petrol and mileage.
I will never use them again.
Europcar were terrible. They tried to upsell us on the car we'd booked and then tried to do a dodgy on the figures - after 24 hours flying we didn't need this hassle. We were in the office for nearly an hour!
Then on return we were told there'd be extra cleaning charges because of a bit of sand in the car!
I would never use Europcar again!
Slow and inconvenient- shuttle took ages to arrive and there was only one person at the check in desk. Process for check in was unnecessarily slow and new costs were added even though we had bought full cover online, ended up missing flight back because shuttle was so slow dropping us back to airport.
they gave me an upgrade for a relatively good extra fee.
The car was really great and worth the extra fees.
I had to drop a deposit, i am yet to be refunded that after 5 days.
I felt that the extra protection insurance was not given as a choice. I was forced to purchase it as a requirement despite having a basic insurance on the vehicle and my personal travel insurance which would have covered me in a case of the accident or etc.
Friendly staff operating the shuttle from the airport, at the desk and at drop off. Whole process of pick up and drop off very easy. The staff at the pick up desk did try and fairly 'hard sell' of their local insurance products and made a few misleading statements about the full coverage insurance products I had paid when making the booking with Easyrentcars.com. This made us feel a little uneasy when leaving the pick up point that may not be adequately covered. once we arrived at our destination though, we double checked the insurance documents we had previously been sent and we reassured that we were adequately covered. That being said, we will certainly use both Easyrentcars and ACE again in the future.
I got a confirmation that I had my hire car. Then called them after my flight and they said they had no cars. I had to call my brokers. It was a nightmare.
I have rented cars online many times. Your site was not clear about CDW and I was required to pay for collision insurance that was not neccessary.
The car described was a 4 door Fiesta or similar. The car available was a 2 door Fiat 500 - similar in that it had 4 wheels.
Attempts to call Ace from pick up location (Green Motion at Gatwick) failed.
A very disappointing experience and one that will not be repeated.
The efforts to upsell type of car were annoying clumsy.
They have several names, to blame each name for poor service. But really its all the same company!
I dealt with greenmotion through this booking. I dont have time to write how horrendous the service was & how rude the sales staff are.
Yes i walked away, got a hotel & then a train all after a 24hour flight & 1year old baby.
Thats how bad it was!!! They are con artists that will take advantage of people being on holiday with no where to go & take all your money.

Due to the fault of my bank I ended up not even getting the car, but I can state that Green Motion apparently advertises one thing and does another. In my case for example, at time of reserving the vehicle there was a up-to amount for deposit although at car pick-up, Green Motion wanted to charge me a 3 thousand Euro deposit, which is ridiculous and I would never agree to such amount. I will also state that in my short time spent in the Green Motion office I overheard other clients making similar comments. Next time I went with a serious company right in the airport where my deposit was 200 bucks.

The staff was helpful in using the dreaded Dartford Tunnel, and eased problems thereof with full assistance. First assistant was a bit overbearing when trying to "upsell" insurance.On that subject, there is still a $1500 + charge in my credit card statement 2 1/2 days after returning the car with no problems.Most rental companies do not charge as much, and the charge is cancelled faster.

We arrived and were told there are no automatic cars available, the only one was a large Volkswagen Caravelle. Were told it would be at least two hours before one was returned. We could not wait and ended up paying more for the Caravelle in order to leave on time. Pretty disappointing.

Counter staff helpful at both ends. Didn’t get the specified car. The guy parking cars at the drop off stole the space I was going into and was obnoxious.
