I was given a complimentary upgrade but was charged £2.75 extra when I dropped off the car, which was puzzling as the staff member said it was the difference between the car I ordered and the car I was given. It wasn’t worth quibbling such a small amount but should not have been the case. There was something wrong with the car’s steering, which I reported on returning the car. It veered to the right at speed and when accelerating. Not safe.

The only problem we had with the car was a flat tyre on the motorway. Which as the car did not have a spare tyre resulted in a three hour wait at the side of the motorway and we had get the tyre replaced at a cost of 204 pounds. As we had paid for zero excess this was refunded by the hire company. Some to think about when hiring a car. Arnold Clark were helpful and the service was quick and efficient.

The friendly professionalism of the yellow taxi (van) driver, on pick up and drop off was awesome. I ordered a Kia Ceed, which is classed as a crossover SUV. The Toyota Corolla I was given, describes itself, in its manual, as a sports hatchback, and being a hybrid, carried batteries below it's rear seat and boot. The resulting boot space was pathetic, barely accepting one large case. The second large case, and two smaller cases were placed along the rear seat, a dangerous option in the event of a forward collision.

Very disappointed. I was forced me at the counter to pay 280 pounds extra for insurance. Though I had a credit card they said its not valid and they have to charge extra insurance otherwise I couldn't take the vehicle.

Staff were very slow in taking care of customers; their main objective was to scare and bully you into as many additional insurances as possible, ignoring completely the coverage already subscribed to at the booking. Not helpful their policy to hand over the car with an (almost) empty fuel tank and expecting it back with the same level. On the positive side: The car I had booked was also the one I got - which is rather exceptional.

The price I thought I was going to pay was no where near the final price. You should be upfront on prices, because you know at the end of the day you know people are in a place where they cant say forget I’ll go somewhere else. They just want to be on their way. Also, you have to get out of the space you currently in, it is way to packed. People shouldn’t have to lug their bags to the bus because there’s no room for the bus to turn around.

At the end of it I feel like I’m walkinh into a trap set by Europcar after enticing me with attractive discount. Even after paying for full coverage using QEEQ platform. The counter staff refuse to recognize and insist that I have to took up full protection with Europcar. The rate for Europcar protection is almost same as the car rental. End up I have to pay double. Upon returning the vehicle, they charge me extra 1 day because I’m late by 32 minutes but they took more than 30 minutes to process my picking up. I don’t have proof when did I actually get my car but I’m quite sure when I get my car it’s over 9:30am but their system says my pickup time is 8:59am. And my return time they set at 9:31am. Just 32 minutes and I have to pay the full day of rental plus Insurance !! Lesson learnt, be very very careful with Europcar. They will find all means to charge you and maximize their profit

Even though we had full comp insurance and a certificate an up sell was attempted as was to upgrade the vehicle but without really saying it was going to cost extra. Found it an easy process nevertheless. Car hire in the Uk is expensive all round :(

The wait was TWO HOURS to get the pre-booked and pre-paid car. It was baking hot and I had a baby and a small child with me. The staff did not acknowledge the wait or apologise for it. I made a note, whilst in the queue, never to use Europcar again. All other rental car providers had more staff and no lines. Horrible, horrible, experience!

After a long haul overnight flight I was horrified to find almost 20 people in front of me waiting to collect a car. The process took almost 1.5 hours. The staff were polite but there were just 3 people working and a wait of this length was extremely frustrating and totally unacceptable. Poor show and very unprofessional for an international company.

I did not get the exact car but got a smaller one. I booked a Nissan X-Trail but was offered the Nissan, Qashqai which is a smaller size, although they offered me a Citron D7 but i refused.

I booked Mercedes E class as the car boot space is quite big. However I was given a BMW330 or another alternative car which car boot space is even smaller. I had to send my big luggage to my accomodation by uber. BMW330 can only store 1 big luggage and one hand carry. It is very small as compared to Merc E class.

The vehicle had a number of items which needed to be taken care of: Computer kept alarming us that the Oil Fuel was filled too much Midway we were warned to add more AdBlue (refunded by Alamo) After the first use we were warned to top up the wiper fluid. Apart from that, Alamo service was very great and supportive

VERY TIME CONSUMING GATHERING ALL THE INFORMATION REQUIRED TO PICK UP. ALSO, AS I ONLY HAD £1500 ON MY CREDIT CARD I WAS FORCED TO PAY IN ADVANCE FOR PETROL I NEVER USED, RETURNING THE CAR BAck with virtually half a tank of petrol in it. On a positive note Ryan on reception is a credit to your organisation, and probably one of the reasons you are still afloat. Had it not been for him remaining calm and trying his best to help me I would not have picked the car up and certainly would have never used you again.

35 mins to pick up in 2 degrees Celsius, the van was waiting at the wrong bus stop behind a bus and with no signage on the front. The driver did at least help me with one of my three cases once we had finally found each other. Check in was complicated because of having to use the self check in machine, even though there were no other customers present and at least two staff working on the desk. The first vehicle issued was not read worthy due to a defective passenger-side mirror, which should not have been released for rental. The vehicle was swapped when I complained. The car was collected in the dark and covered in overnight moisture so some damage was not noticed on the rear driver-side wheel arch; this was only found when I reached my initial destination. Vehicle collection should be arranged in a well-lit area to ensure that no such damage is missed by the renter. The vehicle ran well and is comfortable. The shuttle can does not run frequently enough so I was waiting almost 30 mins after dropping off the vehicle to return the airport.

The milage on agreement was a couple of hundred miles below the actual millage on the car. If I hadnt noticed this I would have been charged for the milage. This made me suspect that Interrent was potentially trying to fiddle the deal. Probably not true but it did reduce my confidence in Interrent considerably. When I made this know the man at the desk said I should just take a photograph of the milage for documentation. This method is not infallible. I would have preferred a corrected rental agreement signed by the person on the desk and documented with a photo so that I would feel certain that I was not being badly dealt with. As it turned out everything was in order when I returned the car. Interrent could easily lose customers by this shoddy way of handling problems. Otherwise Interrent was fine. The car lived up to expectations and the rental cost reasonable.
