Misleading pick up information. As I’d prepaid and given all pre booking information to Avis it states go to the desk marked pre booked give your card and license and pick up your keys not waiting. This not true. At the desk there’s a queue and they ask if anyone is a preferred customer, I said I was but they said not and get back in the queue which then took me about 25 mins
After 2 days of hiring car, “change engine oil soon” light started flashing and next day “ change of engine oil required” message started flashing, went to 3 different Avis outlets in Orlando and 1 in Fort Lauderdale, none of them had cars and didn’t helped either, was told to go to airport.
Went to FLL, airport and had to change the car with robotic service, no apologies nothing at the counter. Disappointed.
we booked a convertible to be collected from the airport, however we was unable to fit all the suitcases in a car, went back in and spoke to a member of staff a gentleman sorted out a suitable vehicle that was more then above the expectations . we have used AVIS in LA company has really great staff.
There was only one member of staff on duty and the booking process takes a while. With customers ahead of use and after a long haul flight another agent would have been welcomed. When it was our turn the agent was very pleasant and professsional.
I love the ethos of Alamo they are customer focused the car was new only had 9000 miles on it and was immaculate. Counter staff are fantastic there was a que yea but they are a good company so you have to expect a wait I don’t mind they don’t rush you to get out the car park and their toll payment system is awesome
The car had been upgraded for our arrival. The check in was very good by Doreen in Melbourne Fl. who explained everything fully and emailed photos of the car bodywork. She commented on our level of insurance cover so NO pressure sales. Would definitely use again.
Unfortunately the car developed a substantial oil leak which meant that we had to visit a Hertz garage 3 times during the rental period before having to then drive to the international airport in Orlando to swap the car for a different one. It was all a bit stressful having dumped about 3 litres of oil on our drive and we lost a day of the holiday at least trying to sort it all out. Customer service at the airport Hertz desk was excellent and we were able to exchange the faulty car for a better model of vehicle.
Wait time to pickup rental was very long due to a delayed flight, but staff was accommodating, and upgraded me free because the car I originally planned on was in need of service.
Drop off time was so quick that it was concerning.
Neither pickup or drop off staff would review the issues or damages with the car with me in person and this also concerned me, as I would not want to be charged for damages the car had prior to my use.
I drive a 2017 Volkswagen Jetta, that was a little worse for wear. The car had ants, dirty windshields- rear and front, and every seat had water stains. The rearview mirror was broken and wouldn't stay in place. The power windows did not work properly because it is in need of a window modulator. The engine had charging issues and I suggested to the drop off staff that it needed a new battery. I also suggested that the car receive a transmission flush, as the overall mechanical stability was clunky and I was worried the tranny would drop out.
