The staff demanded from me to clean up the car upon returning, what was surprising, but ok, not a huge deal, I paid a visit at self service car wash before returning the car (was not extremely dirty, just standard road dust)
1. The pickup time is rigid; if they say you have to pick up at a certain time, you must pick up at that time. Because it's hard to predict the arrival time of international flights into Zagreb, we checked a lot of information online and planned to pick up the car within an hour of arrival, based on the actual flight and customs clearance time. The staff insisted we wait for an hour. Even though we explained the flight and immigration issues, they didn't understand and instead demanded that we coordinate with their working hours. 2. The car pickup process was slow; there were only two counters, and only one was open. The European customers behind us were not in a hurry, which I guess is normal.
1. The car pick-up time is quite rigid. If they say a specific time, you must adhere to it. It's hard to predict the arrival time of international flights to Zagreb, and despite researching online, based on the actual flight and customs times, we planned to pick up the car within an hour of arrival. The staff made us wait an additional hour, which was quite rigid, even after we explained the situation. They didn't really understand and insisted we match their schedule instead. 2. The car rental process was also slow. Despite two counters, only one was open. European customers behind us seemed unperturbed, indicating this might be a norm.
There were no hard sales pitches. They simply asked if we had bought insurance. When we said we already had, they didn't push further. The diesel car is powerful enough for uphill drives. The car was in good condition and relatively new. It was easy to drive. There were no staff present when picking up the car; you could just drive off yourself. During return, staff checked the car meticulously. The entire process was smooth, and the staff explained everything clearly. Now we are waiting for the deposit to be returned.
The staff at the pickup location had a good attitude. However, at the drop-off location at the airport, there was no one to attend to us. We waited for over twenty minutes until a rude woman showed up. We complained that the address was incorrect, but she said it wasn't their responsibility. She tried to evade responsibility and even threatened to call airport security.
Local rental company. Booked a Peugeot 3008 but got a compact SUV from Skoda. The car was in good condition, with low mileage. Good power and reasonable fuel consumption. It had CarPlay, which made it convenient for listening to music and using navigation.
1. There were too few staff for car pickup. They were too busy to attend to customers. Basic car conditions (like the triangle warning sign, tools, spare tire, control, mileage, fuel gauge, etc.) were not explained or introduced. Other scratches and even tire cracks pointed out were not recorded either. Overall, it felt like they had no time for service, and they just wanted you to drive away quickly. There was no sign of nine-point service level and quality.
2. They charged a 100 Euros cross-border insurance despite knowing a newly constructed bridge made it unnecessary to cross borders. Being able to easily find the bridge myself as a non-local, I found this service provider disgusting.
3. During car return, the inspection was very thorough, but they did not issue a receipt immediately after confirming there were no issues (said they would send it via email a week later).
This service provider does not deserve a 9-point rating. Future customers should be cautious.
Very bad. The staff were inefficient and communication was slow. The pickup location is not near the airport, and no one was holding a sign at the airport to wait for us. In the over thirty degrees weather, I spent more than half an hour looking for the person and the store. After giving feedback to customer service, they called the car rental company to pick us up. As soon as we got in the car, they drove around and then said they needed to pick up another renter too. They left me in the car without air conditioning to wait! When we finally got to the car rental place, the whole process of picking up the car took almost an hour and a half. Extremely inefficient.
The store is right at the entrance of the building, offers free parking at the door, very attentive service, but the procedure is quite complicated as it usually is abroad.
Besides credit cards and debit cards, now you can pay for online car rentals with cryptocurrency in 2020. Bitcoin(BTC), ethereum(ETH), and bitcoin cash(BCH) are accepted. Wonder how long does a bitcoin transaction takes and how to pay with bitcoin? Read our FAQs.
