You can walk to the counter of Thrifty - Melbourne Airport car hire.

The rental office is located on the ground level of the ParkRoyal Hotel, opposite Terminals T1, T2, and T3, behind the large Melbourne sign. If you arrive at Terminal T4, make your way outside to Terminal T3 to cross the road . Please proceed to the office to complete your rental contract.

Drop-off Instructions

When approaching the airport area, follow the road signs marked "Car Rental Returns." After passing through the center road traffic light, keep right and watch for overhead signs indicating "Car Rental Returns" at the entrance. Enter through the Car Rental Return car park entrance.     Thrifty provided great service. The staff at the branch were enthusiastic, and after checking my driver's license and translation, the process was quick. After paying the rental fee and a 385 AUD pre-authorization on my credit card, I received the car keys. When inspecting the car, the staff noted some small scratches, which I appreciated. During the return process, the staff instructed me to drop the keys in a box without an immediate inspection, which made me a bit anxious.
