This is a scam shop, 1. 20 minutes late for pick-up. 2. Originally rented a Honda Accord but was given a beat-up Toyota RAV4, how can you tell an extra scratch from a car full of them? 3. Extra charges specifically targeting Chinese customers. When returning the car, a lady said everything was fine. Then a man came out, inspected the car thoroughly, claimed there was a defect on the door, but the comparison with previous photos showed otherwise. He also pointed out paint damage inside the door, claiming it was our fault. This spot is never checked during inspection. This shop is clearly targeting Chinese customers.

I initially thought that for a short two-day stay and not too far distance, getting the cheapest car would be fine. However, our flight was delayed by 20 minutes, and they asked us to pay a 50 NZD overtime fee for their employee, which is roughly 250 RMB. They also said if we don't pay, we’d have to collect the car the next day. Upon arrival, they demanded a 500 NZD deposit, although the contract stated 1000 NZD. Unlike other companies, they don’t have their own counter and parking spaces at the airport. Instead, they have a lot about 5-6 kilometers away, and they’d shuttle you there only if you contact them in advance. These hidden terms made the overall cost higher than a big rental company. From now on, I will not choose a small rental company just based on price. The car's condition was terrible, and it’s lucky we didn’t face any issues. On a positive note, the staff were friendly and were mainly young Chinese.

Booked the RAV4 model guaranteed and got exactly that. Fantastic rental overall, especially given the price. 40,000km on the clock but no issues whatsoever. Definitely factor in the extra time for pickup. They will pick you up in a normal car so make sure to ask what registration is on the car doing the pickup and make a note clearly. Also make sure you have something to call in, SIMs are not really available on the arrivals hall from what we saw. Pickup is outside departures before the W pink sign, outside door number 3. Windscreen had pre-existing chips in them which make me a little uneasy - hope there's nothing under the hood being neglected. Overall, will rent again.
