Completly incompetent staff had no idea about anything. Said i had to pay 853€ although that amount included the CDW fee and would have been only blocked. Restarted the system and called her collegue twice cause she thought there was a mistake. Was overstressed by the three costumers she had to handle. Wrote down the wrong parking slot so i lost another 5 min. searching for the car.
At drop off they told me on weekends not the Europcar staff is on duty but some third party company.
In the end Keddy (Europcar) charged the airport fee, although the voucher says "Taxes and surcharges included" and at the same airport and also booked through easyrentcars AVIS did not charge anything.
The car was ok, but nothing more.
Highly not recommend.
Reserved ECMR -> Ford Fiesta 1.0 74kw
Very smooth and silent ride for such a small car. The engine has more than enough power and is very economical (4.9l/100km @440km mostly on Autobahn and country roads).
Navaigation system was standard and easy to handle with its big touch screen.
Cons: no cruise control, very poor space for 4 people
I ordered Audi A1 because it's small and Fuel efficient, but I got Citroen SUV Big, bulky, and not economical at all, how it's the same class? No one knows
As a member of the AVIS Preferred Plus program i recieved my usual upgrade, this time a triple from group B to Group E (from EDMR to IFMR). The RSA was not able to process a proper contract via their computer system, so it had been printed it and signed manually.
The car (Skoda Karoq, medium sized SUV) had a 1.0l turbo-engine, which turned out to be very economical, using only 5.4l/100km petrol on the 900km trip (60% highway with max. 120km/h, 35% country roads, 5% city). Specs you might expect from a diesel but not from a petrol engine.
Like: I had to cancel car hire, as my client cancelled. Avis cancelled without problems, or any charges.
The staff member was helpful and understanding. Dislike: In the beginning, he seemed a bit "under-trained", but overall helpful and efficient. So, not complaining.
Thanks Avis, and hope we have better luck next net time )
