upon arrival at o'hare airport, proceed to the upper level roadway (ticketing level) look for signage to airport transit.board on train to mmf (same as car rental center and lot f).when you arrive at the mmf building please proceed downstairs following signs for south parking f and buses and call us at (847) 671-4000 to request pick up. our routes car rental/ airport parking shuttle will pick you up outside of bay 1 (in front of door 1)

    Like: Great Jeep for a very reasonable price. Staff was all very nice.
    Dislike: Make sure to read the terms and conditions of the rental - I have never experienced a company that, no matter if your plane was delayed and you paid in full, would release your reserved vehicle and charge you full price if you were more than 2 hours late. You can avoid this by calling and letting them know but we were stuck on the tarmac with horrible cell phone reception so we couldn't call. Luckily, we made it with 10 minutes to spare but still they said that there is no flexibility with that policy and that seems crazy. I paid beforehand so that vehicle should be waiting for me no matter how late my pick-up is.

    I was up graded to a Sarah jeep. I got 30 mile away and could no longer keep the jeep on the road. The front end had a problem. Even over the smallest bump it would shake uncontrollably. I called the office and was told they could not bring me another car. I should drive back slowly with my hazard lights on. I did what I was told, however I did not feel safe. I was given a car to replace the jeep. this company dose not check out there cars before they defend them. I know this for a fact. I brought back my car and it was immediately resented while I was waiting for the shuttle bus.

    Routes is off-site and not in the new car rental building at ORD. It was not difficult to get to, but required a second van trip. Person behind the counter seemed anxious to leave and not very friendly, but the process was smooth and efficient. A Jeep Wrangler was substituted for the Rogue. It is very boxy and not fun to drive as it was very windy. When we got the car, no one volunteered to go over the controls and features. However, when asked, one outside worker did a pretty good job of showing them. It is easier to get in and out of Routes than it is the car rental building at ORD.

    I would have to begin EVERY day with stopping for air for one tire. By the end of each day the same tire was flat again. I called to extend my rental, yhr first lady was busy and said she would call me back but she didnt. I called again an hour later anf the second make promises that the price was the same and everything was set. The next day a man calls me and said the car was due nack yesterday and now I have to pay $3 a day extra for thr extension fee.

    Stuff was not professional at all. You do not talk about you personal stuff with other workers while taking care of the client. This place is so over stocked with cars (they rent and provide parking for the airport)you can barely get out with your rental. I had to call twice just to make sure I will have the car that I wanted. Price was the only thing that kept me from saying anything.

    Overall experience exceeded my expectations. Only issue was the ~40 minute wait for the shuttle bus from the car rental center at O’Hare. Returning the care was very quick and easy thanks to a guy not working behind the counter, otherwise I would have been waiting in line for probably 20-30 minutes.

    Routes offered the cheapest option to rent in the O'hare area. There was a shuttle that went from the rental car area to Routes itself. Be prepared for the additional 10-15 minute wait. Once everyone who was on the shuttle gets to Routes, the line takes a while to die down. It took me about 20 minutes to get to the counter once I arrived. They also charged $400 as a security deposit which I was not aware of at the time. Besides the wait, I would still use Routes for business car rental for the price and availability.

    Ended up with a Jeep Wrangler Sahara. Only other choice was a Dodge Durango. We preferred to have a smaller vehicle for better gas mileage. The Jeep was “cool”, but buffeted a lot in the wind on the freeway. And it only got 19 mpg. Routes did compensate us with a half tank of free gas, as we complained and requested such upon accepting the car.

Be prepared to spend some time here and also unlike the other major car rentals, this drop off requires you to stand in the line again to return a vehicle.

    Car was about what I expected. Difficult to find place. They will put a 400$ hold on a 20$ rental on your credit card, simply bc they are a smaller company. It would be nice to know ahead of time bc they return it in “3-5” business days. It’s been 3 and I don’t have it back, which makes me nervous. In hindsight, would rent from bigger companies in the future - less hassle.

    Very bad! The car I pick up the fuel are not full and I needed to return as the fuel I pick up. But no one can fill the fuel as you needed but only full fuel. So the only way you do is only fuel up more. So they can earn such money. I hate ROUTES.

    Three people including myself were all told the car they rented wasn't available and were given larger gas guzzlers or told after waiting an hour that they could return to the airport and find another service. It is not a shuttle away from the airport, but multiple shuttles away which is deceiving and complete BS.

    Routes at ORD was extremely inconvenient and the customer service was awful. You have to take TWO shuttles to get there, first to the car rental center and second to Routes which is offsite, not at the O'Hare centralized car rental center. There is no signage saying you need to take the second shuttle, so we panicked when we couldn't find Routes and had to call. Once we finally did get to Routes, the customer service was extremely slow. There were plenty of staff mulling around, but only one person helping the long line of customers.     They gave me a Nissan Rogue, not the economy car I had requested. I prefer more gas efficient cars. Otherwise, the pickup was fine. The return was not: I arrived at the Routes car return at 12:30 pm on Saturday June 1, in plenty of time to return the car and get to the airport for my 2 pm flight. The moment I arrived, a Routes employee who later told me her name was Maria Sanchez, came out to check the car for damage and get the mileage. She did not mention how often the shuttles leave or when the next one would leave, so I took my time gathering my belongings and collecting the trash I had accumulated on my trip, and waited patiently behind another customer who was checking out. After I finished signing the paperwork, I asked when the shuttle to the airport left and Maria told me it had just departed 30 seconds ago. I asked when the next one would be and she said “15-20 minutes.” I asked her why she hadn’t told me that it was about to leave and she said that I took my time getting my stuff out of the car. I asked why she hadn’t asked the driver to wait 30 seconds since I was clearly about to leave. She said she couldn’t control him. A few minutes later, I heard her answer the phone and tell another customer that she would ask the driver to loop around and come back to pick him up. I asked her about this and she ignored me. I doubt her name really is Maria Sanchez...but she's pictured below.

    The car size I reserved was not available and I had no choice but to be "upgraded " to a much larger vehicle. It was extremely difficult for my 86 year old mother to get in and out of the larger vehicle that I didn't want in the first place. Also the vehicle only had 1/2 a tank of gas. And when I called to determine if I should bring it back with 1/2 a tank I was told to look at the contract which showed a full tank, so I was cheated out of 40 dollars in gas. I told the drop off employee who tried but couldn't refund the 40 dollars because the rental was prepaid. I pretty irritated about that. Also was told that every toll booth I paid cash had to be documented with time an date and amount paid so I could prove I paid the tolls in case the rental company tried to charge me for skipping tolls because I didn't buy their over priced Eazy pass.

    I knew pretty much what I would get and that is what we got. The price was over $200 cheaper than any other company. I knew it was off site and I knew I would need proof of insurance so picking up the vehicle went smoothly. The car was not very clean and was a very base model. The lady at pick up was kind of rude. They said we had to return the car vacuumed out, which I wasn't told at the beginning, but the manager waived that so it all worked out fine in the end. I would use them again for the amount we saved since that was our top priority.

    Routes counter service staff were great. At O'Hare, you have to take a shuttle to the new car rental facility and then you have to take another shuttle to Routes. It took them a long time to track down a minivan for us to rent. And, when the car arrived, it was soaking wet like it had just come out of the carwash. It was clean inside other than something was all over the interior ceiling and the antenna was missing on the van so we couldn't pick up very many radio stations. Overall, I would rent from Routes again because it was so much cheaper than the more well known car rental companies.

They are a bare bones operation and the first rental company I've encountered that required my insurance policy number in order to rent the car.     Routes not on main car rental location where most other car rentals are from airport so you need wait for their shuttle to go get you after you call that takes kinda long time to arrive...was like 30 minutes. Process of getting car was fast , got car I wanted to get in good shape, staff was helpfull with finding damages on car so they dont try to trick you. When I was driving piece of plastic on doors fell off, I didnt do anything to damage car was clearly manufacturer thing , googled piece of plastic was about 30 USD (new) but when I was dropping off car I had to pay 500 USD ,even tho I paid 500 USD already at beggining and gonna get rest back after repair for damages I didnt cause or couldnt prevent. Hope repair wont be overpriced becouse I know you just clean it and put there piece of plastic ,I know becouse I work in Škoda and I know how those being put on (we use screws tho so this cant happen , here was just glue).

    Rental fee is way cheaper than others, but car condition is as good as others or better. Accessing pickup location from the airport is a bit tricky. You need to take airport shuttle to Rental hub, and then call Routes office for another shuttle to the pickup location. It takes easily over 30 min. It is still worth taking time for pickup because the deal is so good. Also direct shuttle service from the dropoff location to the airport is provided after returning a car.

    I rented a Dodge Grand Caravan, and they told me they did not have one. That made a problem with 4 adults, 4 golf travel bags, and 4 large suitcases for an 18 day trip. The Dodge Durango was not an even swap, we were squashed the entire time. They did give me the 2nd driver free of charge per my request to them for the obvious inconvenience. I would have appreciated a heads up before arrival so we could make other arrangements and not find out on arriving at 9:30 pm.... The airport shuttle to the Car rental place went smooth, but the Shuttle the rental car center to routes was over an hour wait... there was a young family waiting next to us and with their little kids and the late hour, this was horrible. especially when it is only an eight minute drive from the airport itself!! I could tell this was going to be the same problem when I returned the vehicle, so I just got an Uber and avoided the whole aggravation. Also on return of vehicle, there wasn't any signage on procedure, and it was very different then any other rental care company I have ever used. The price was great, the desk staff were very professional to deal with even with the inconvenience of downgrading the vehicle we needed, but the shuttle service set up is HORRIBLE and needs attention!!

The women’s restroom was out of order the entire 2 weeks we had the cars. The first car wasn’t clean and the check engine light was on. The window washer fluid was empty and upon refilling, emptied out immediately. We exchanged the vehicle and the new one was clean but had an annoying loud rattle coming from the dash that we couldn’t quiet. Shuttle was quick and easy.

    Car pick up was problematic: Firstly, it wasn't at the airport with the other car rental companies which meant it took much longer to get on the road. Secondly, the person dealing with the booking had no idea about my booking, despite me giving the reservation copy to her which she said she didn't need...a booking which I had made 5 months earlier, and she tried to give me a Jeep when I had booked a Nissan Rogue or equivalent. I refused the Jeep and then her colleague said, "Oh we just had a Rogue come in"...magically. This person was also quite rude. Additionally, the car tires were low and within an hour the warning light came on. This is unacceptable since you have to pay for air refills in the States. However, the person handling the return was excellent and efficient and friendly.

    This is an off-site location on Mannheim Road south of ORD. The pick-up involves taking the airport shuttle to the rental car center, then calling Routes for a pick-up. (Two shuttles altogether on pick-up.) Getting back to the airport after returning the car was easier, though: The Routes shuttle dropped returning passengers directly at their terminals rather than at the rental car center -- a nice touch.

But the drop off process must be streamlined: There was a guy to check the mileage/status of the vehicle, but with Enterprise when I give him the keys and sign a slip that he can print mobile, then I'm done. 3 minutes. Instead I had to wait in line for 40 minutes to talk with a very frustrating and loud woman, who contradicted what her boss had just told me to do (which was, to get in her line). Then she left for 15 minutes. Her boss, or maybe it was another person at the counter, helped me and another lady with the drop off process. She missed her flight, I almost missed mine. If I knew it was a 30-60 minute process, I would have planned accordingly.

    Picking up the car was quick and easy and the staff was polite and helpful. We got upgraded from a Corolla to a Durango, and for the price, it couldn't be beat, even if getting there was a bit of a trek. The car was very clean. Dropping off was a whole other story... There were a lot of people, and everyone had to go inside to turn in keys and sign off on the rental. Everyone (pick-ups and returns and people who had parked their personal car there) was in the same line (which created a very long line) and they seemed understaffed to handle that. It was disorganized and inefficient. One woman was working with a couple and she seemed very angry/annoyed and kept walking away and going to the back without saying anything to them. Most of the staff appeared or acted unhappy to downright rude. That being said, at some point, someone separated all the people picking up personal cards and helped them, then helped all the people returning cars and it went much faster. The shuttle driver was very kind and polite and being taken directly to the airport after the return was helpful.

    Although I ordered a 4 door car, the desk staff upgraded me to a nicer SUV for free when they saw the luggage my group had brought, which was very much appreciated. They answered the phone quickly when I needed to speak to them and the instructions on pick up / drop off were precise.

    Did not realize car pickup occurred at site remote from main rental car pickup site. Too much additional time involved! Also, long wait once arrived at Routes rental pickup site. Also, learned at pickup site that insurance card had to be provided. Not made clear enough at time of booking, and did not print out with pickup instruction sheet.

    My girlfriend and I were traveling together but staying at different locations. We came in on the same flight and were leaving on the same flight. For some reason when booking my car my pickup was later and my return was much earlier. When I was telling this to the wonderful woman at the counter she went to the trouble to look at my reservations and was able to switch to the same times as my girlfriend's times at no extra cost and there was even a car ready for me right then and there. She didn't have to do that. She could have let me sit there until my time. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

    The staff is seriously understaffed, waited for a long time, and the system crashed during this period, almost missed my flight!     The staff had a lackadaisical attitude, chatting casually, working inefficiently. It took 30 minutes to pick up the car and another 30 minutes to complete the paperwork. Very unprofessional! Even after returning the car, I was charged after 20 days. I will not rent from this company again. I don't know how this platform selects rental companies. Routes is terrible!

    I bought insurance online, but when picking up the car, they insisted I buy insurance again. The customer service told me to pay first and they would handle it later, but they never did. I ended up spending a few hundred more for nothing. Very disappointing. I suggest everyone avoid renting from this platform, it's full of pitfalls.

    If you don't have a return ticket, they say the order is invalid and won't refund your money or give you a car. They ask you to contact customer service for a refund, which has strict conditions involving other rental companies, and they charge you for the entire week if you're just a little late picking up the car. Everyone should avoid renting from this company in the future! Anyone who hasn't rented from them should be very cautious!
