9.7Great Car and Customer Service/ Missing Apple air tag
The people were kind and courteous. The car was great, clean, and perfect for what we needed. They got us checked in and out super fast. I enjoyed renting from them. Definitely, will use them when we go back to PR.
On a separate note: I did have an Apple Air tag on our keyring that I forgot to take off. I did call twice and no one could find it, even though it pings that it's at the car rental location. I'll call again to see if they found it.
The rentals for Routes are provided by Allied. After arriving at the San Juan airport you need to call them to send the shuttle for you, it was very quick process.
At the rental location it was very busy, many people waiting for cars, it was moving slow. We were informed that our rental was not returned yet by previous renters (we needed 7 seater) and they don't have another car for us so we need to wait for it to be returned. After inquiring again we were told that maybe renters will decide to keep the car longer (?). and we might not get the car at all !!!! After more complaining they suddenly realized they have a car for us on the lot so eventually we got it. All the process took almost 3 hours . During the return it was even more crowded, they tell you just to leave the car and go, (by the way on their front door specifically says NOT to leave without receipt and closing your contract) They just didn't have enough people working there, they were overwhelmed by the situation. WE were renting right after Christmas so very busy season but still they should be prepared and organized better.
8.3Charged significant sum in extra fees and car not available. Would not recommend Dollar or Qeeq.
The car I had reserved was not available and they charged me several hundred dollars in extra "taxes and fees" that had not been quoted. This is unacceptable and should not happen.
The car rental company in Puerto Rico took almost 3 hours from 9 AM to 12 PM. They insisted that we buy their insurance, claiming I hadn't already purchased one. We were in a hurry, so we had to buy it.
1. I already sent them the rental pickup form via email: counter@charliecars.com
2. They said if I already paid, they would refund the amount.
Please coordinate with the car rental company.

They made me purchase their basic coverage to protect the car which I know is a scam because I used to work at Enterprise rent a car. protection for car only is the damage waiver.
I'm going to contact them for a refund for the other coverages that I did not want.

10Easy pick up easy return very friendly, helpful personnel
Excellent speedy friendly, professional service. The first jeep that we rented for the two weeks on one day, it would not start. We got a jump from a neighbor and drove straight to Alamo and they replaced it. No questions asked.
Recommended. No surprise fees or hard sells—BE SURE TO READ THEIR RULES. Kind employees. If you don’t bring a copy of your coverage for the car itself and for liability don’t blame them for you not reading. You’ll also slow the line for everyone else.

I always use Charlie car rental/Ace. I just wish that as a regular customer there would be better deals or specials. I've rented from Charlie/Ace at least 5 times this past year. It'll be nice to have some type of bonus.

It was an excellent experience. I called to confirm their shuttle van was on the way when I landed at the airport and they arrived within minutes. The pickup process was smooth and the vehicle was spotless and ready. We were in and out in less than 10 minutes. I highly recommend them and would rent from them again without hesitation.
Had a little difficulty linking up with their shuttle driver; I had to wait about 45 mins, and call three times, for the shuttle to pick me up. But, once I got to their counter the process went smoothly.

Toyota Yaris had a very strong cigarette odor. Manager did not hesitate to changed car for a Toyota Corolla which was clean and no cigarette odors.

Ended up having to rent from a reliable competitor for the first day, due to location closing earlier than advertised. No apologies or anything. Ended up costing more than planned.
I don’t remember selecting a time to pick up, but it was booked for noon. However our plane was not arriving until 3:45 so I would not have booked to pick up before our plane arrived. When we got there our booking had been cancelled because it was over 3 hours old. Maybe I did not see this time when I was booking the car, but I don’t remember selecting to pick up at noon. Thankfully, they still had a car for us.
5Charlie car rental in Puerto Rico will force you to pay an extra $8 a day for a toll pass -No tolls!
Finding the correct shuttle was very frustrating. I called Charlie car rental and was told - just look for a white van. The second time I called he said I had the wrong car rental.

Q2. How can I add an addtional driver?
You are advised to make a request upon your arrival at the rental counter. Additional charge per day will incur unless '1 Additional Driver Included' is stipulated on the rental. Please note that the same licence and age requirement applys to the additonal driver. The addtional driver is supposed to present the required licence document along with the main driver at pickup.
Q3.What if I want to pick up or drop off my rental car out of office hours?
QEEQ will show you the car offers available at your chosen time on the search results. However, pick-up or drop-off out of general opening hours may subject to an extra fee unless self-service pick-up or drop-off is available. Q4. Can I take the hired car to another country or cross border?
If you want to pick up your car in one country and drop it in another, your search results will show you cars you can do that with. Yes. You can pick up the vehicle in one place and drop it off in another. An ‘one-way fee’ will incur. Whether it is inclued in the rental price or what additional cost may arise will be clearly stated at the time of booking on QEEQ. Please inform the car hire company of your drop-off location when you pick up the vehicle or contact them directly during your trip.
