Finland Car Rentals

Car was great, although engine light came on to say it had been over-filled with oil, the washer fluid light and the tyre pressure light on our last day of hire. We hadn't driven very much so presumably these things had not been checked before the car was issued to us. Otherwise, car was great - clean and the size we were expecting. Service was good at the airport as well once you had used their phone for an advisor to attend.

Advice on pick up was in correct. App and comms said to meet in the car park. The service provider was a different company name (Scandia rent) vs the one listed on the booking. So it took a number of phone calls and going to the information point at the airport to collect the car. On the return journey we paid 175 euro to have an alternate drop off location to the pick up, but again multiple phone calls were required to coordinate.

Great option in Finland - the car was in great condition and I didn't have any problems.

New card, easy pick up and drop off.

The guy was very friendly and informative; he collected us promptly as arranged at the start of the hire. The whole process was easy.

The car was as expected however the fuel was not full. They took a note of it and hopefully will give me a discount for the next rental.

Handed car in early since we ran out of time. Needed to get toHelsinki earlier but charge was required to drop the car at a new condition. Gave up car three days earlier but no compensation was received for a shorter rental. Flexibility was not as easy as it is in the United States.

The car had a warning light on for low tyre pressure. Tried to service thd tyre at gas station that was closed. Called your service number. Guy responds that this is an instrument failure or false warning light, typical for cold climate and this car model. Your guy at airport could have told us.

Yes. I was expecting a small car. I am given a opel grandland x. It was quite spacious and comfortable. Very high profile features. I was very happy with it.

Good service

Very nice staff. This is a rental in a different country, staff should re-explain all the rental conditions, insurance and any additional spending (if any) during pick-up.

I specifically ordered a Skoda estate but ended up with a suv with a smaller trunk space. Not sure if this is an Alamo issue or easyrentcars but car luggage space was smaller than it should have been.

Very punctual on pickup (it was Christmas day and it seemed like they showed up just to help us with the pickup). Our car got upgraded.

swift process in getting our car at the counter, Hertz staff is very efficient and no upselling. A 3 minutes walk to get the car and it was in great condition!

The Green Motion staff is friendly and patiently explain to us the terms and conditions. The car was good in condition. Highly recommended!!

There is additional cross boarder fee 70euro charged on the spot which didn’t mentioned in the booking process.

Friendly staff, clearly direction! Just we booked Audi but got Opel instead which a little bit disappointed!

The car was clean and useful. Bur there is no any counter desk. Staff just put the car somewhere around and it was terrible to find it.

Le personnel attendait dans la file pour donner les clés aux personnes sans savoir qu on était dans la même file.. Extension.de la location très facile et efficace avec personnel aimable au téléphone.

Car was upgraded but when the accident happened, Alamo were none responsive, leaving me, the wife and 2 children stuck in the middle of the forest. Eventually after 5 hours managed to get a courtesy car, this they cancelled 3 days later with no warning. Only on threatening to not pay the collision damage amount did they pay for a courtesy car but we had to get a bus 4.5 hours to pick it up.

Took ages to find the scandia rent desk at Helsinki airport not with other car hier rental desk. Then ages to walk to the car park at the petrol station at the far side of the airport. On return to said car park there was no one to leave keys with and no answer on the phone numbers given so hanging around trying to find someone to take keys back. Not sure the total yaris we were supplied with should be in the same vehicle class as the VW polo we booked?

Scandia Rent was by no means professional or efficient. Appears to be run by individuals with varying degrees of knowledge and customer service. At the drop off location no one with even minimal English was available.

Great service

No instructions of where the service counter of Scandia Rent was in Helsinki airport. It was not where the the agencies were.

The service from the staff at scandia Rent was superb. The team member spoke great English he was polite and explained everything very clearly. I was able to compete the booking and reservation within 10 minutes.

I had booked and paid in advance a VW-Golf or similar, arrive 6/21 /2019 at 11am Vantaa AP, and I was exactly on time. I was offered a SKODA which I was not happy about, but agreed to take the car as long as it had 5 doors as the Golf, when I arrived at the parking garage the attendant told me that there was a mistake and my car had been double booked ?? and was no longer available ??? I had aid in advance ?? obviously no guarantee to have a car available at arrival. He offered me a Toyota Yaris which is a smaller car !!! than the one I had paid for, telling me they were out of cars. I adviced him I had paid in advance, and when the rental agency does not have wht I have paid for you normally do not substitute with a smaller car you give a size up ( I am renting cars at least 10-12 times/yr so I am not a first timer..... Luckily another agent heard our conversation and said he would take care of me and my problem , he was very friendly, showed me a Nissan Qashqai and asked me to check that one out to see if it was meeting my expectations. It was good and I accepted this one. This agent saved the day, my vacation and Budgets reputation A+ to him

Counter staff were helpful.

They gave me a free upgrade to an Auris hybrid which was excellent and exceed much more my expectations. Car was very good.

No problem, all was correct

The car I hired was Toyota Yaris, but instead I received Opel Crosa, which is a disaster of a car, didn't enjoy it one bit. It was using more fuel than I expected, and it felt like it wasn't good enough for the price I payed. The customer service was good, I received my keys in no time and found the car in less than a minute.

Plus d'une heure d'attente à la gare de Rovaniemi: le véhicule était à l'aéroport en raison d'un problème informatique lors de la réservation selon les informations données... Malgré cela le personnel de Finn Rent à été très agréable.

There was one item listed on tips for driving in Lapland about using an electric cord if provided. My car didn’t have one but it would have been nice to have been told up front if my car should have had one and also how/where to plug in. Otherwise no complaints!

All good, except I booked a car with 5 seats and I got one with 4 seats. It was too cold and a lot of snow and we were tired. That's the reason we didn't go back to the office. We did not to waste time nor on the spot nor from our holiday. Except from this, all very good, thank you.

Helpful had to ring them as flight was cancelled til next day. Car was running with heater and engine on, useful as it was minus 30. Disappointed that car wasn't the model id booked

Dislike: By mistake I have reserved the car for 10:30 PM and I came earlier 11:00 AM Finnrent charge me for additions 41 Euro. This first time that a rental car charge me because of it.

Like: Adaptability. Mistake in their system. Found a solution very quickly

Dislike: Two things. First: I live in Finland and I have a cottage in Estonia. Why I must change car when I go to my cottage ? I thought Europecar is a real EU car. I see no risk espasially when I did order a non expensive car. Second: I always order my car before I come to Finland thruough internet. Why you use the currency of the country where I am ? I always loose currency change money if I need to change my reservation.

We booked a mid sized car but they didn’t have any. As I’m 6 foot 5 almost 2 metres tall I asked for larger car instead. They didn’t have any. I have bad back and need big seat. They offered free tank and no license fee which I wasn’t expecting. We had a lot of driving that why I needed good car. We had polo and my head was touching roof not good!!

Very hard to find the rental return parking in Helsinki.
