Valley of Fire State Park – Nevada’s oldest, largest and first state park

Valley of Fire State Park, Nevada’s oldest, largest and first state park. The “fire” is actually a mix of sandstone and limestone. Inside Valley of Fire State Park, visitors can camp between fiery rock formations and explore exciting short hiking trails.

Must-see spots: Fire Canyon, White Domes, Rainbow Vista, and Silica Dome: each is as magnificent as it sounds.

Transportation: It’s about 50 miles from Downtown Las Vegas to the Valley of Fire State Park visitor center.

Tips: The park is open year-round, and the best time to is when the climate is not so hot in late fall, or even better in early spring when the wildflowers are in bloom. Campsites are $20 per night, and RV sites are $30 per night. All sites are first come first serve. (The policy is subject to change.)
