Bears Ears National Monument is a United States national monument located in San Juan County in southeastern Utah, established by President Barack Obama by presidential proclamation on December 28, 2016.

Bears Ears National Monument is home to outstanding cultural, recreational and natural resources. The area within the monument is largely undeveloped and contains a wide array of historic, cultural and natural resources. Rising 2,000 feet above Cedar Mesa to the south, the Bears Ears reach 8,700 feet in elevation and are named for their resemblance to the ears of a bear emerging from the horizon.
