You can arrive of ACE Rental Cars - Wellington Airport car rental by free shuttle bus.

Free pick-up and drop-off service to our Wellington Airport branch for customers from 7am to 5:30 pm. Once you have arrived at Wellington Airport, call our Wellington airport office on 0800 502 277 (+64 4 471 1176) to request a shuttle. The airport shuttle pickup area is located outside Wellington airport departures on the ground floor, head out the doors, turn right, walk 40m until you have passed the Airport Flyer Bus Stop (Bright Orange) and our Yellow shuttle bus will meet you in the shuttle car park next to the bus stop

Driver's License Requirements

ACE Rental Cars does not allow to bring the rental vehicle to ferry. You will drop off your car at one port and collect another after crossing to the other island. Like: The people are friendly and helpful. I didn't get the promised photos of the car damages but as long as they weren't bothered, then I wasn't. But if there had been a problem with damage, this would have been a problem too. The car was very efficient on petrol. But the best thing was the staff. I left my house keys at the rental desk and the lovely woman from Ace drove to the airport to drop them off to me! Many thanks for that.
Dislike: The moment at the airport when I couldn't get through to them on their 0800 number and wondered if I was every going to get through to them. I kept being referred to Auckland and then talked to someone unhelpful there. Eventually I managed to talk to someone in Wellington and by the time we had collected our luggage the shuttle taking us to the rentals had arrived. So phew.

Like: The staff were super friendly and I’d like to compliment on Peter (OZ guy from Brisbane) who arranged for the pickup of the car on 4th May ‘18 and he was also the one to drop us off at the airport on 6th May ‘18. He was really polite, friendly and helpful. We were really satisfied by the overall experience in renting the car from EasyRentCars. I’ll defintely rent from there again!
Dislike: Wish the car was a slightly newer model but not a big deal.
