We got an upgrade to a good diesel 4x4 which was good. The counter staff member (pretty sure it was Denise) was great. The car was pretty dirty but they had some issues with getting cars delivered in time so the staff were managing everyone really well.

Staff at pick up were a little rude. Admittedly we arrived a little early but were told we had to wait outside in the heat until our allotted time.

Car met my expectations and it was a nice drive for the road trip. Thankfully there weren't any issues with the car throughout my 6 days of driving it, and it was reliable in my experience.

Drove away with 2x clear cellotape on the windshield but could take it off after an hour

The car handled really well but only after the lane control was turned off. It would be good if customers were advised about the lane control system and how to turn it off as it was terrible to drive through the winding hill roads with it on. The car interior was dirty and should have been cleaned before hiring it out.

Given the holidays pick-up took longer than expected but it was easily solved by their partner company. The contract was signed in a rush and before inspecting the vehicle which led to the extra step of writing an email and making the drop-off staff aware of the original state of the car.

Car was more than up to the job required although sat nav would have been better as an option Staff at ace couldn’t be more helpful

Great service and great car - no issues at all. At drop off location, they even used their shuttle bus to drop me somewhere other than the airport (not a big detour though) - nice touch.

Mid-sized sedan car was provided as the ‘mystery car’ on arrival. No issues with the car during the 2 week hire period. Easy process at pick up and drop off. Helpful staff and only 5-10 minutes shuttle away from the terminal.

I booked a Mitsubishi ASX, but was given a Mitsubishi Outlander, it was a little bigger but comfortable the same. Pick up instructions was to call up for a free transfer to Ace Rentals about 1-2 km away from Queenstown airport terminal, the transfer was smooth. At pickup, the guy was clear to explain and checked all documents, but cautioned me about my liability excess is $5500, that got me worried even I bought AXA coverage through QEEQ. At returning the car, the lady was not helpful, I had a dent on the vehicle front passenger bumper cause by a big landscaping rock while reversing for parking, she seemed panicky and quickly made a report for me and charged me excess of $5755.08 on my card. She was not helpful to explain how is the process, more worried about the next customer picking up vehicle, when I ask for credit card slip, she said she do not have one for me, luckily I took a photo of Ace Rentals copy which I signed. Later then I realised on the accident report it said they charge me excess $4783, but then I paid on credit card $5575.08, still not sure why, hopefully could be resolved later when they obtain an assessment of cost of repair to bumper, after Christmas they say. When I ask for if they have a telephone contact which I could call from Singapore, she said another guy will call me. I kept calm , since I had to catch a flight, and trust QEEQ and AXA insurance would help clear things up.

Signage not very good hard to find

The car had a built in GPS which was very handy to have Good staff in store Staff could have walked us to the car and shown us its features and asked if we required any information about the car.

The car exceeded expectations. I had a late flight arrival so I was able to organize with a worker to have the keys left with the Hertz rental station and this worked out perfectly.

When booking a infant car seat, it would be great if was contacted about age of infant so they car seat was installed in the correct form. When picking up the car we waited 45 minutes for some to come and help us put it in rear facing which is the legal way the car seat need to me installed for our 5 month old. We are also still waiting for our bond to be returned to our bank account.
