I was unable to take advantage of a $30 "discount coupon" mentioned in a subsequent email.
They are horrible! was on hold for more than 30 minutes, two different days, while on my trip. Return employee was horrible and they over charged me for gas, even thought the tank was full!
Rental was set for a Compact and attempt to provide an Economy was made. 3 adults and with multiple suitcases was not going to work with the tiny Economy. Main renter is a female. Compact was provided after making request and additional wait time.

Price Drop Protector is a nice benefit as long as it remains free of charge.
Like: The car was good value and the service for booking in was efficient. Dislike: The collection of the car was slow and we were just left without a chance to check the car for problems before leaving the parking area.

The wait in line to pick up the car was a bit slow. Eventually a third agent began processing which sped things up. As seems typical these days, there was high pressure to add supplemental insurance and the prepaid gasoline option, which I declined. When picking a car we were told to pick any car in a certain section. Three were there and all three had "do not rent- lost keys" signs so we had to go back and get redirected to another section. After we got the car, everything else was great- no problems. The car was fine and got very good gas mileage. Returning the car was quick and easy.

I had to spend the double, just because the sold me at the counter "you don't have any insurance, if there are any damages you have to pay full value of the car". that's a scam. Really unfriendly.
Car was much smaller than the one provided with the reservation
Total cost was $94US but I saw a A$400+ charge on my credit card. No damage to car before or after and returned with a full tank. Looking for a credit in days to come, never advised that a holding amount would be taken.
Like: I love the truck and I didn’t want to let him go. Wish I could have bought him!! Dislike: I didn’t like that there was no section numbering 11 and the ladies in the booth weren’t helpful until the 3rd time walking around the parking lot and me telling the ladies there were no trucks a gentleman walked up and asked if I needed help and got a truck delivered right away from the back after he saw me and my 11yr old daughter desperately looking for the truck section.
Without telling added all kind of insurances and presented it without comments. Kept on pushing on a stupid road help insurance that I clearly not wanted. Annoying. They could just advise before adding it to the bill.
Locating the car in the car class we selected was a challenge. We were told to go to "Area 7" to pick out our car. There were multiple 'Area 7s" for a number of the car companies. We had to ask which "Area 7" belonged to Thrifty. When we got to the proper location, there was one car left. What would have happened if there weren't any cars left? Would we have had to pay for an upgrade?
