The car had some damage to the inside of the trunk, and it was t documented before we left. (It was in the lining of the trunk that covered the spare tire). And they are trying to charge us an extra €290 for damages. We didn’t do this so fighting with Alamo’s customer service is proving to be difficult. Make sure to check everything inside and out. They’ll try and get you.

At drop off the worker found a tiny scratch on the PLASTIC hubcap. It was hard to even see and now Alamo is going to charge me 140 euro. Will never use Alamo again.

In Catania, Alamo hires are provided by a local agent Locauto who up have upgraded to digital systems which made the whole experience smooth and efficient

Booked a 7 seater because we are a big family 2 adults 4 children. On arrival I was informed that a 7 seater was not available. Largest vehicle they had was an estate. They advised booking another vehicle however only one adult can drive. Fortunately we were with friends so we were able to do some shuffling about. On returning the vehicle I enquired if there are 7 seater vehicles available and was informed no.

Like: The service at the rental office was friendly and very good. We were a large group of 5 adults and 4 children, who had booked 2 station wagons. The lady at the pick-up office saw our luggage (which we considered typical for US / Canadian families) and pointed out, correctly, that it would not fit into the cars we had booked, along with the passengers. I guess North American ideas of "medium" sized cars is different from European ones. She offered 1 car as booked, and offered a 9 seater mini-van instead of the 2nd car. The additional charge was very reasonable (80 Euros for 5 days) and the swap made so much sense for us in the end. Very good service, and all was handled with the least amount of fuss or hassles.
Dislike: At the time of drop-off, I did pay a steep fee (45 Euros) for not refilling the gas to full. This fee was in addition to the cost of the fuel, which was also charged at a premium. I suggest that you should leave enough time to get a refill before returning the car to avoid this.
