We did an after hours pick up but the communication was great and we had no issues with the pick-up. Drop-off was equally smooth. The car itself was fine and just what we needed.
i had few experience of car rental company in Qld, Cut Price car Rentals provides the best service so far.
I am very impressed.
Thanks for the first day young gentleman from cut price car rentals, he did help us a lot. We appreciate him for this. This is critical for our holiday.
“Great vehicle and good drive experience. Counter staff was extremely helpful and patient.”
About Alamo:9.3/10
We were informed of changes to our booked vehicle 3 to 4 days before our arrival. Luckily the counter staff managed to explain to us what exactly happened and continued to allow us to have the original booking.
About QEEQ:8.0/10
Booking was easy but it would be great if the add on fees on the excess and insurance could be stated earlier instead over the counter decision.
Great car. So good to *not* be renting at the majors, and having good options. Got the full insurance cover at a reasonable rate so had peace of mind. My own car is an old klunker so the fancy features were appreciated.
I arrived close to 5 pm on a Saturday and called their customer care who gave me the Brisbane number. Upon calling multiple times nobody picked up so I took a cab ans spent 20 dollars from airport to car rental shop. (Apparently their shuttle only works till 5 pm on weekend). when I arrived around 530 pm the main door was locked from inside but a receptionist was present at the front desk. The distance between the glass door and the front desk was 2 arm lengths. I banged at the glass door several times before she made eye contact and said sorry we r closed. I was so frustrated that the customer care couldn’t tell me this on the phone so I could have organised another car at the airport.
Day 2 when I was to return the car, again they told me the shuttle service has shut down and I need to take cab from the rental shop to the airport. Another 20 bucks. I don’t know why do I need to book a cheaper car rental with such poor service standards. They want the money but can’t deliver any customer service.
I could get the same thing probably with 10-20 dollars extra at the airport.
“Disappointing experience due to car not matching booking, long delays at pickup and dropoff”
About ACE Rental Cars:3.7/10
Car booked was "large sedan" eg Camry. Car received was the much smaller Suzuki Vitara... and only received that after an hour.
Only option for toll payments was $13/day "toll protection" or $34 per toll admin fee... outrageous and particularly annoying given we only used a toll road once.
Carplay didn't work in car.
Dropoff was also slow -- depot was 10 minutes from airport but took more than 25 minutes to get shuttle back to airport.
The woman that checked us in was very thorough and helpful. She really helped make the process smooth, and made me feel good about renting from them and also being a foreigner driving in Australia. The vehicle was perfect and it was a pleasure to drive.
Alamo staff should inform me that the charges for making toll payment. Each transaction I was charged 1.28aud. It is small amount but for every transaction I was charged the amount seems to be abit too much. And the condition of the boaster seat for infant is not so good and clean.
“Good car, cheap price, but the $4000 (four thousand dollars) on bond was a little too much.”
About CARHOOD:9.3/10
When I drop off, they were able to do a 10min trip to the airport, but could not do the same 10min trip to somewhere else. Why? It was a little frustrating.
Terrible company. Cheap is the operative word - the car was unroadworthy - a banged up old Nissan - rear view mirror fell off an I had to fix it, window winder comes off in your hand.
Then to add insult to injury they insisted on charging the collision excess of $4k to my CC. The bloody car would be lucky (on a good day) to be worth $500!!
All quite shameful really from a company I can only describe as a shady dodgy operator.
